Above is a link to a video that Jen put together the second day I was here.
Vamos a la playa- Vamos a la playa- Vamos a la playa
Today we went to the beach. It was a lot of fun. Jen, Cristina and I headed there around 1600. It was a really hot day, so all of us were looking forward to the cool breeze by the Sea and the ability to cool off in the water. We met Oriol there (one of Ivan's friends). Later Didier and Marc met up with us at the beach (also friends of Ivan's). I had so much fun! There were a few cute boys out, but the majority of the fun was spent in the water (warmer than the Pacific), climbing, and walking/talking. The guys that I was hanging out with are so much fun. I pointed out a rather handsome guy (el tio guapo). Well, Didier (little did I know) made a plan- so I folowed (Of course). We endd up talking to this cute guy and his friend for a good 30 minutes. I do not know how how to spell his name but it's read Inyaki (yes, it's sounds Japenese). Anyhow, Didier laughed later that night when he we telling me that Inyaki's friend was asking about me in Spanish and he (Didier couldn't tell him anything). Didier goes, "Jeff, what was I going to say? 'Yes, I met him for the first time in my life 2 hours ago'?" I was laughing so hard. The way that we interacted did not look like a group that just met that day. (side note: I had met Marc in SF and hung out with him and ivan twice and I met Oriol in SF and hung out with Ivan and him quite a few times) However, I had never met Didier and Oriol had never met Marc or Didier (Marc and Didier are married and have a child together).
Jen and I went over to Oriol's house after the beach to have dinner (AT 2200!!!). We were 15 minutes late and Jen could tell I was a little freaked out by that. She then explained that if you are invited to someone's house and you have dinner at 10- which is early, it is customary to show up late so you do not pressure them. When we got there, they still weren't ready- ha ha ha! Not a big deal, but Jen wasn't kidding! Hilarious! Jeff Benson says, "Dinner with everyone was wonderful- good food and good conversation with some really amazing people- a really fun time! " - that was my Siskel and Ebert rating of the evening : )
Marc, Didier and I continued the night riding (I got to ride on the back of Didier's motorcycle- let's just say I was laughing the whole time. I LOVE THAT KINDA STUFF! I have to get a motorcycle or at least a moped when I get a counseling job in SF) to Montjuic to see a concert. Well, it was not just a concert (in fact I cannot even describe for you the show and the multitude of events that were going on). It was amazing! It was even more amazing that was about 130 and there were people everywhere. There were so many different things to do. Most of the time we spent walking around and practicing Spanish phrases, but we did do some dancing. If I get brave enough, I will put them on youtube for you. At about 230 we headed to Dboy (a disco).
Dboy was 17 euros to get in! I realize that I like to dance, but most of the time, if I go out, I just want to sit at a bar and chill out. Fortunately for me, Marc and Didier have a very contagious energy. It wasn't too long before I got excited and wanted to dance. We had a good time, but the smoke was just too much for me. We left around 400.
Vamos a la playa con mis amigas Jen y Cristina
This is some crazy donut guy who wears this plate on his head and walks around the beach all day clinging a triangle and singing- he is definitely on some "happy pills". Yes, I know, I should have recorded him- I will try to do that on Sunday.
This is Marc
From the left- some guy, Oriol and Didier. This is another side of the Barcelonleta beach (the GAY side).
This is me being creepy. That's Jen and Cristina enjoying the afternoon sun.
I don't know- I guess I think I am cool or something. The shadow shows that it's about 1700.
Me, Oriol, and that guy
This is the climbing thing I saw yesterday and said I would climb up and get my picture taken. I had to show my niece I can do it too. Unfortunately, when I got to the top I was BLOCKED! Ha ha ha- it was so cute, the kid totally did it on purpose : )
Finally, we all made it to the top

Did you get that bathing suit here in SF? didn't you? Is that... are those your... ? anyhow, I'm sure you were turning heads like there was no tomorrow, ;-)
I'm leaving SC today... it's definitely time to go back home.
I couldn't get the video to work. I tried cutting and pasting the link
You are so luck you had a helmet on in that picture or your niece would have ripped you a new one. Although their was a little to much skin after the 6th picture of you in a speedo. I think your trapeze act at the beach looked fun. I must be old I cannot Imagine eating dinner at 10pm and calling that early.
Okay Jeffy....you look wonderful in those swim trunks and the pictures on that little playground thingee are very cool. BUT, I am STILL very embarrassed for you in that speedo.
I totally would have climbed that thing with you, Monkey! I also would have tried to sell you for money, you saucy little Puto!!
