I could never imagine in a million years the way my trip has started out. I would have provided more pictures for you than the one above, but I left my camera at a tumbling camp in Tracy on Wednesday- hopefully it will arrive before I leave for Spain. Until then, you get my iphotobooth picture showing you the last 12 hours of my life.
My flight to Chicago was delayed about an hour- no big deal. Arrived around 11:45pm- about an hour and 15 later than expected. The shuttle bus to the car rental place picked me up about 30 minutes later. At that point in time, I am starting to really feel my illness coming on- no Airborne or Zicam was going to stop this monster from effecting me. I was dizzy and about to throw up. Luckily the bus arrived before I decided to make the cement my bed for the night. As I got on the bus, I sat down and immediately thought- "My cell phone". That's right, I lost my cell phone. It fell out of my shallow pockets. I was frantically hoping that I misplaced it in one of my bags- well, I was wrong. I got to my rental car and drove to the airport to see if it was still where I was standing waiting for the rental car shuttle. No luck- I then went inside and no one had received any lost cell phone. I headed to Buffalo Grove around 1:00am to finally get some much needed rest at my friend Kate's apartment. Once I got there to call her from the box downstairs- I realized I didn't know her apartment number. No problem, right? Just look up her last name- No luck! She is not the sole name on the apartment. To make a long story not so long. I am presently at the La Quinta Inn- I thought it was appropriate for my upcoming travels : )- and about to head to the mall to get a new cell phone.
Jeff's Breakdown total: 1
I am sure today can only go up from last night : )

Yesterday, right before you signed off of facebook, there was one more piece I wanted to share with you. And it was that if all this stuff is happening now, just think that, if this is as bad as it's gonna get, then it's gonna be an amazing trip.
Did I ever tell you that the first time I went to Europe, it took me 24 hrs to get to N.Y. from S.F.? Yes, anything and everything that could have gone wrong, did, and the rest of the trip was a breeze!! And SO MUCH FUN!!
I think you exhausted your bad luck for this trip already, so enjoy from now on ;-)
Love you, boy!
Iván.
oh, and keep your stuff in pockets with zippers ;-)
I agree with Ivan, Jeff. Get some pockets with zippers ;-) ....Enjoy your trip!!! Sorry I missed you before you left...
Hey Jeffrey, these are signs that your trip is going to be amazing. It was great having you at the camp last week. It's great to see you in your element and I know that the kids were very happy to see you too.
I just want to wish you good luck on your trip. And will you please invest in some shorts with zippers? Or get a manbag like Morton's?...hahahaha. This way you can stop losing things!!!
Please keep us posted, as I'm sure that you will have many entertaining stories to tell us. And remember, no black and white on this trip...JUST LOTS & LOTS OF GREY!!! =) Love ya Jeffrey!
