Today I went to Sitges all by myself : ) That's right! Lloyd and I decided that we would meet up on his day off and enjoy the beach and walk around the town during the day. After I got on the train to head to the station, I saw the cutest little girl who had a bandage on her hand. I swear that it looked like the blood was dripping through the bandage. As I inspected, the little trickster actually had a toy on her finger that made it look like she had a nail through her dedo (finger). Ha ha ha!
When I got to the station, I wasn't sure I was going to remember how to get the round trip tickets, so I depended on the idea that I could change the language setting on the ticket machine- WRONG! It didn't work. Thankfully, I remembered the basic pattern that Jen and I did the last time and was able to get my round trip ticket. Later on, I find out that it wasn't necessary to buy the full ticket.
Once I arrived at Sitges and met Lloyd, we headed to get something to eat (3pm) and headed to the beach. I was shocked at what I ended up ordering, but nonetheless, I was so hungry I just wanted to feed my belly. After we took a little nap, we went into the sea. We had a really good time- I taught him how to do a backflip- apparently, when Lloyd was younger, he begged his grandpa (or father, I forget) to spot him on a mattress doing a backflip. After I convinced him that I could "Spot" him in the water, he went for it. Ha ha ha! He was full of laughs- it was great to see his big smile when he hit the water. He goes, "AGAIN AGAIN!" Just like when you throw a kid into the water- with a big smile and full of laughter. I then toe-pitched him. Typically that will make one go higher, but he was content with just flipping- the height didn't matter. Maybe next time we can get some "air".
After the four hours of sun, we walked to a bar at the end of the promenade. It was quite a hike- way over a mile. I didn't realize that the beach was going to be so long, but all I could think was, "burn off the gelato, burn off the pop, burn off the french fries, burn off..." The two other times that I went to Sitges, once with Jen, and the other with Jen and Cristina, we stayed closer to the downtown area. The beaches that are further down the promenade are much cooler. If I get to go when Ivan is here, we will have to check out those beaches. The shoreline is more curved and there are islands of land.
After drinks at the hotel bar at the end of the promenade, we walked back to the center of town so that Lloyd could change and we could grab dinner. The sun was starting to set and the colors in the sky (even though they were behind the building) were really pretty. They cast quite a nice hue on the buildings and onto the beach. What was so interesting to me is that all the body of water that I am use to, Pacific Ocean, the water is to the west- so the sun sets over the water. However the Med. Sea is South, so the sun is setting behind buildings (I miss the sunset).
The Italian place that we ate at was fantastic. I finally had Sangria for the first time in Spain- it was DELICIOUS! It was then that I found out that the last train out of Sitges was at 10:26- it was 10:35 and we hadn't even got the appetizers yet. SHIT! Luckily, there was a bus that supposedly left the town at 12am. Lloyd and I took our time eating (which was SO GOOD) and headed to a bar for one last drink. He took me to a bar called Bourbon's. We had caipirinhas- they were so delicious. Thank you Felipe! (Yea, and that's all I needed was another drink before I got on a bus- ha ha ha! But it was SO good!)
I know, she looks all innocent, doesn't she? Don't trust her, she's up to no good : )
A close up of the little stinker and her trickery!
Not a typical lunch for me, but I was so hungry. I was explaining to Lloyd that I stopped eating fries about 3 years ago- except for some very special occassions (In-and-Out burger). Lucky for me these were soggy- so I ate about 5. The pop- yea, five sips and I was good with that! Yea, I think I may have actually learned to not enjoy two things that use to be a staple in my diet (it only took 3 years- ha ha ha!)
This is the evil machine that decided to not speak to me in English. There is a button on the bottom left hand corner that I assume is to change the language setting- well, with 10 people in line behind me I opted to not sit there and fiddle with the button that was not working. Luckily I remembered what Jen bought this past weekend- I was on my way to Sitges!
Hotness on the beach!
More hotness! Okay- I have tried to find out- maybe because it's the morning- what this is called- and I can't think of it. He is surfing the water on the shore- so I am going to call it Shoresurfing.
Ha ha ha- Lloyd started peeling his orange (which he does with his teeth- interesting technique) and it squirted him in the eye. You can see if you enlarge this picture, that it's on his forehead adn near his nose- ha ha ha!
Lucky for me he did it again! ha ha ha! Maybe you shouldn't BITE into your orange!? Just a suggestion : )
Beach hotnesses brother! Lloyd says he thinks this one is gay. Come get it!
And of course- right after my manhunt picture is a cute little kid and his mom!
A fun afternoon for the "Kids of Sitges".
I had so many titles for this picture in my head. I will leave it at- the look like they are having a lot of fun! : )
A pretty house on the promenade viewing the sea.
At the end of the promenade- I was being held up by the palm tree.
The beach that I was speaking of. If I get to go back to Sitges, this is one of the beaches I would like to visit. I really like the islands and differing shaped shoreline.
View at the end of the promenade. The sun was just beginning to set.
Snap Shot!
A picture!
And I quote, "Sometimes with fountains- less is more!" Lloyd, you could not be more correct in this instance! What is this!? It just makes me want to pee-
Trying different settings on my camera. I actually liked this first shot I took!
Another pretty house on the promenade.
I really like this picture. The grass, with the water, the color of the sky and the color of my shirt! If you notice- A FULL MOON! Uh oh!
I know I already have a picture of the church (and maybe my camera did not do it justice) but while the sun was setting, it cast the prettiest colors of pink and purple on the church. I think you will get a better idea of it in the video that I added.
On our walk past the church. I was quite surprised to see this neat building behind the church.
Sangria-- yummy! No, no estava baracho!
Two thumbs up for Felipe and his caipirinhas!
The bus!? Gross! Actually, it ended up being really nice! The bus dropped me off right in Plaza Catalunya and I walked 200 m to get a taxi and I was on my way home (2am)!Okay- I give up! I have been trying to upload the video that I took of the beach around sunset. I have been waiting at home for the past 3 hours trying to get this thing to work. Sorry guys, maybe later, I can't stay in the house any longer.

Can you send me home some of that Sangria?
Oh no, you didn't! Brad, I think you're overstepping some boundaries here, buddy! You did not just put a comment before I did again! ha ha ha... I'll say it's the time difference. Darn it!
Ok, so, what to say today. Mr. L is a looker also, but let's just say that Mr. N still got my vote. Ha ha ha... good thing I'm not even in Berlin yet! So, a week from today I'll be counting the minutes to head to the airport! :-D
Oh, that ticket vending machine put a photo of you in her blog also (her blog, because it's "la máquina) saying something about how you didn't switch your language preferences to Spanish. How rude!
Yes, yes, yes, we've got to go to Sitges, I wanna, wanna, wanna! And even though Hunky Doctor told me I have to be very careful with the sun on my scars, I'll even wear a shirt the whole time if necessary. Or we'll just go when it's cloudy, ha ha.
Well, it's almost 8 a.m. here, and after a nice yoga class, I'm going to eat b-fast and start working (yes, I'm luckily making some money before the trip) :-)
Luv,
I.
PS. If you run into stained glass again when you go into cathedrals, try close-ups, it uses the light better, and sometimes there are some pretty amazing details.
